Everything's coming up roses

Well what can I say, I'm a slacker!  So far we've been in our new house for 3 months now and everything is up and so cute!  I love my new house.  We always have little projects here and there which keeps us so busy. Sofia is now 7 months old, where has the time gone.  She said her first word "hi" on June 3 and rolled over on June 5 and got her first tooth on June 20th and 2nd tooth 5 days later.  She was pretty good when she was cutting teeth.  She wasn't too fussy like Giovanny was.  She is such a great baby!  I couldn't be more happy with the children that Heavenly Father has blessed us with.  Giovanny is the one that's hard to deal with right now.  He tries my patience all the time!  There are days that I have to take deep breaths before even talking to him.  He can be so sweet and good most of the time but it just seems like all I can remember are the hellish times.  I try to keep him entertained but when I have to pay attention to Sofia it's like Giovanny knows that he can act up!!!  What in the world! He's trying to get out of naps now and I will not have anything to do with that.  He has to have a nap because he really is a bear when he doesn't get one.

Out of town

While J's been out of town, I've had a lot of time to organize.  I've also had a lot of time to fix up pictures, so here's what I've been up to.  Enjoy

4 months

Sofia is now 4 months old.  How the heck did that happen?  She rolled over for the first time on April 9. She realized she had hands on Sunday April 15 and began looking at them it was the funniest thing!  She has since rolled over so it wasn't just a fluke.  My baby is growing up.  I love my children and am so grateful every single day for them!

We moved into our new home on Saturday April 7 and we love all the space!  I love going through stuff and throwing away and organizing, it takes forever but I'm so glad.  I've had so much help from friends and family that I'm so overwhelmed.  I am so blessed to have people drop off food, or take care of the kids, or just come and help.  I'm so blessed.  So thank you if you are one of those that have helped me.

(Created January 25) Sofia is now 2 months and are about to go to her 2 month checkup on Friday.  She will also get her ears pierced, which I'm excited about.  She started smiling last week on Tuesday January 24th.  We love her so much and she's such a great addition to our family.  She is so good, she nurses every 4 hours and sleeps really well in between feedings.  The last 2 nights she's slept for 7- 71/2 hours, which I'm kinda worried about because I think she's not getting enough to eat and that my milk supply might go down.  But don't get me wrong, I love the extra sleep that I get throughout the night!  Giovanny is a good little helper with getting things for me or Sofia if I'm busy with her.  He loves to help and loves to kiss his little sister.  He always asks me, "Mommy, can I kiss her?"  I love it!  But there are times when he doesn't do so well and randomly head butts her for no reason or I've caught him sticking his finger in her mouth to comfort her (like J does but Giovanny doesn't know how to do) when we can't find her chupon (pacifier).

Today (February 16) We went yesterday for Sofia's ear piercing and she did so great!  She only cried for a minute or two and she looks so cute! I need to put in her percentiles of when she had her two month check up an they are.....

Weight 11 lbs 4 oz and she was 48%
Length 22 in 30%
Head 15 in. 27%

She cried so much when she got her shots this time which I felt so bad.  Thank goodness J was with me to comfort her as well.

We had her blessing on Sunday February 5 which was so great!  All my siblings were able to come and see it which I was very thankful for.  I know it's such an effort for everyone to come but I truly am blessed and thankful for the support.  Plus it's great to see everyone.  Sofia slept for 8 hours last night and I nursed her at 9 last night and she didn't wake up to eat till 7 this morning.  I hope this lasts because this is great.  She is such a great baby, I thank Heavenly Father every day for her!  Both of my kids are great to have and couldn't imagine a day without them.

Introducing SOFIA!!!!

We  have been very busy with the birth of our sweet baby girl Sofia Katharine Rodriguez.  She came 17 days early and we were very excited.  I went to a Dr. appointment on Monday November 28 and I was 3-4 cm dialated and 80% effaced.  I had thought I lost my mucus plug and had been having inconsistent contrctions so the dr sent me to the hospital to be evaluated for a few hours (J and I hoped she would come but were okay if she didn’t seeing as though she was super early we weren’t counting on much).  Needless to say, The nurse at the hospital sent me home because I wasn’t progressing any.  The next day I had more contractions but not consistant.  Then Wednesday November 30, 2011 I found more of the mucus plug and had contractions all morning and the night before and my back was killing me.  So I called the dr when my contractions were about 7 minutes apart but they weren’t that strong so there were times where I didn’t know whenthey began and when they ended.  So the Dr. told me to go to the hospital.  I called them back and told them it was more expensive if I went and had to go back home and if I could come to the Dr and see if there were any changes and see what they thought.  So I went and they checked me and I was at a 5 and the dr. said go on to the hospital I’m admitting you.  So J and I took our time and went out to lunch at the olive garden.  Then went back home to get giovanny’s present and a couple of last minute things we forgot.  Then we were admitted around 2:15.  They checked me again and I was 5-6 and very thin and they could feel the baby’s head so she was pretty low.  I got an epidural (eventhough I wasn’t hurting too bad) at around 4:15, and they broke my water at 7.  So in between 4:15 and 7 we watched tv and slept.  At about 7:30 they gave me Pitocin and at 8:00 I was at a 9 ½.  I was ready to push with the Dr. at 8:45.  At 8:50 our beautiful sofia was born. She was 7 lbs. 6 oz and 19 ½ inches long.  I got released on Friday the 2nd.  But on Tuesday I went to the emergency room because I couldn’t control my shivering and I had an extreme headache and felt awful.  Turns out it was a bladder infection.  I t was awful.  Otherwise things are great in our family.

Giovanny is adapting well to have a little sister and loves and kisses her all the time.  He has regressed in his potty training and we are just very excited when he has a wet free day which doesn’t come too often.

J loves his job still and just came back from a trip to Phoenix he enjoyed being there but not being away from his family.

I am doing well just recouperating and adjusting to taking care of 2 kids.  I can’t complain though (Except for my breasts killing me)  I know TMI but let’s keep it real people!

This is a long time coming

Well seeing as though I haven't updated this blog since September, a lot has happened!  I have gotten a lot bigger through pregnancy.  The baby moves all the time.  I was just watching a video when I was pregnant with Giovanny when I was 38 weeks and said he moves all the time.  I think Sofia is beating him with kicks and moves.  I am now 36 weeks on Friday I'll be 37.  I went to the Dr. this past Friday November the 18th and she checked me and I am 2 cm dialted and 50% effaced and my mucus plug has come out.  I am having contractions and am pretty sure they're Braxton hicks.  My back and stomach are starting to hurt and feels like I am in early labor.  But it comes and goes that's why I think it's Braxton hicks.  The next time I go back to see her is Monday 28th so hopefully there will be some progress.

Giovanny is doing well, he got to see Grandma Beck for the first time when she came here for Whitney's and my baby showers. It was so good to see her and am so glad she came.  Giovanny still is not 100% on his potty training.  Sometimes I feel like I just want to give up!  It's hard sometimes to remember to take him I feel like after 9+ months he should know to tell me when he needs to go but I guess not.  He also came to me the other day with a pacifier in his mouth and am kinda worried that he will want to do everything the baby's doing......we'll see.  He speaks so much more now and we can actually understand what he's saying.  I love it, it helps me to really figure out what he wants/needs.

J is still loving his job and are so blessed with him working for this company!  We are also in the process of looking to buy a house but haven't really found anything that we like.  So we'll continue to look.  We also recently took maternity pictures, actually Whitney took some of me and I took some of her so here are a few.

Our crazy life

I did end up cleaning the house like crazy and organizing.  I now want to keep my house clean because it just makes me feel so much better when it is clean.  I ended up getting baby bedding and it's so cute.  It's black, lime green, and pink and I love it so much.  I was able to get a custom made second hand bedding and I ended up getting like 10 pieces for a great price on Craigslist.  I love Craigslist!  It really helped me save money and get something that I really liked instead of getting something that I semi-like while spending money or getting something I really like for a lot of money, so this was a great compromise.

Giovanny is able to go back to the gym and so far it's been pretty good.  I still walk in the gym when I'm about to pick him up and cringe just thinking okay what are they going to say to me this time!  So I'm glad it's been good up to this point.

J underwent ACL and miniscus surgery on his left leg on Thursday Sept 8.  It has been crazy the last few days.  I feel like I'm taking care of 2 toddlers!  But J is feeling much better this time around than 10 years ago when he had the same surgery on the other leg.  I am just glad we're getting this taken care of before the new baby arrives.

Otherwise life in this household is a crazy one but totally worth every second.
